I have loved to travel since I was a child. Then, I started cruising in 1978 and have been an avid cruiser since. Before November 2016, I had begun asking for wheelchair service at airports but went several years without cruising due to losing my traveling partner, my declining health and mobility issues, plus a full work schedule.
I accidentally started using a scooter on a cruise and have become acutely aware of accessibility issues on cruise ships, excursions, airports, and any other venue I might be traveling to. I started this blog to share my traveling experiences from the perspective of a partially disabled senior citizen.
Jump ahead to 2021, and my circumstances have changed. Having gone through six months of chemo, had a catheter for over a year, and am now a full-time oxygen user, this partially disabled senior citizen has advanced to a full-time disabled citizen.
I welcome any and all comments, questions, or suggestions. As long as I have time left and can travel, I promise to provide accessibility information and maybe entertain a bit as well. While COVID and my health issues temporarily put a halt to my travel, I will restart my cruises and other trips early in 2022. Buckle up for a fun ride.
Note: from January 2022 until October 2024, I have sailed on 38 cruises with plans for plenty more.
