Indiana state parks just got even more accessible.
Visitors with limited mobility can now take advantage of electric wheelchairs. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the chair is an ‘all-terrain, electric-powered wheelchair’ to help people safely explore rugged off-road environments.
In total, there will be 45 track chairs and the department says there will be at least one track chair free to use at every state park.
This addition is part of a 50-million dollar Lilly Endowment Grant given to the department back in 2024.
