Anaheim’s Disneyland has long been a family favourite, and they’re always finding new ways to make the experience more inclusive – such as adding dolls in wheelchairs to the It’s A Small World ride this past year. But once you’ve had your fill of fun at the park, here are some of the other magical accessible experiences you can find in Anaheim, California.
Knott’s Berry Farm
Knott’s Berry Farm is all about fun for everyone! They have dozens of rides, shows, and attractions in four themed areas, all inspired by the history and culture of California. We love their Ride Rating System, which helps determine which rides are suitable for each guest’s thrill-seeking preferences. Their KidTrack system is also a dream for any parent or carer who has worried about getting separated on an exciting day out. The Farm’s Guests Services team is always ready to provide information and support for anyone with additional needs.

Universal Studios
Universal Studios is a – you guessed it – universal experience for everyone, regardless of their age or abilities. Whether you’re a movie buff or an adrenaline junkie or just a curious soul, you’ll find plenty of interest at this theme park with a world-famous studio tour.
You can enter the park with your own wheelchair or mobility device, or rent one from Universal (note that power chairs aren’t suitable for rides, so it’s best to BYO manual chair if you’re looking for the full experience). All of the dining and shopping areas are wheelchair accessible, and there are reserved areas for patrons with wheelchairs at all outdoor stage shows. Guest Services can provide assistive listening devices, white canes, and other supports free of charge to guests as needed. They can also arrange for ASL interpreters with advance notice.
IBCCES Accessibility Cardholders can access Universal’s Attractions Assistance Pass, to alleviate the stress of the queue environment. If guests are feeling overwhelmed, attendants will guide you to one of the Quiet Rooms, which are specially equipped spaces with sensory toys, therapy blankets, and a peaceful ambience.

The Miracle League of Orange County
The Miracle League of Orange County is a baseball league for children and adults with disabilities. They play on a field specially designed and constructed with adaptable synthetic turf, safe for participants who use mobility aids. The League has been running for rmore than a decade, and is proving more popular than ever.

Bonus tip: If you’re flying in through John Wayne Airport, you can receive specialised travel assistance from their Helping Hands program. Their trained Customer Relations staff will guide you through arrival, check-in, security, and boarding as needed. You also have the option of wearing a yellow bracelet to indicate to staff you might need some support, and have a gentler security screening experience with TSA Cares. This assistance is available at the airport from 6AM-11PM every day.
