Wheelchair Accessible Curacao

Written by Chillie Falls for AccessAdventure.net, May 1, 2023

I sail today on the Norwegian Joy and one of our stops is Curacao. I will be there one week from today on May 8. I have found a few accessible excursions that might be on some interest. Keep in mind, I have not taken any of these excursions and in no way endorse them. However, with the difficulty I have had finding accessible excursions, I hope they help, and of course, any that I actually go on, will be thoroughly reviewed.

Chef-Led Caribbean Cooking Class with Lunch

Uncover the tips and tricks to cook authentic Caribbean food with this cooking class in Willemstad. Enjoy step-by-step instructions during this hands on cooking experience, that will make dishes easy to replicate for your friends and family at home.

Meet your chef and get to know your group over a cup of coffee in the kitchen. Listen as a local chef tells you about Caribbean food and the key ingredients used to make it. Taste some local flavors to get started.

Use ingredients like mango, pomegranate seeds, sweet potato, and seafood. Craft dishes like plantain soup and quinoa salad. Prepare several dishes together with the other participants, all made with Caribbean ingredients.

End your class by sitting down outside on the porch to a lunch comprised of the dishes that you have created together paired with a well-deserved glass of wine (or 2). All participants receive a custom-made goodie bag before they leave.

Island Tour Road Trip via Mobile App

NOTE: This requires a rental car

Discover the real Curaçao with your own (rental) car using a web app designed to be your digital guide. Thousands of satisfied users preceded you! You drive at your own pace, from your holiday address, carefree from point of interest to point of interest via a great route across this beautiful island. Do it as you want, you can log in for 8 days from your booked date and you can always choose a different part of the route. We tell you about the past and present for each sight and we make sure you navigate to exactly the right place. The slogan of the Curaçao Tourist Board is “Curaçao, experience it yourself”. The advice is to experience the island like a local and renting a car is the best way to do this. Don’t look any further, this is the best and cheapest investment for your holiday! You don’t have to waste time on preparations prior to your holiday, you don’t miss anything and you see more than you would discover yourself. The web app is available in 8 languages; written in Dutch and automaticly translated in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Japanese. It is easy to follow on your smartphone and you don’t need to download anything in advance. If your party has more cars, simply share the link and password (up to a maximum of 2 cars per purchase). Do you provide a full battery and internet data yourself? You can easily buy a SIM card from ‘Chippie’ upon arrival at the airport at the baggage claim area or at the exit. After that you can always upgrade the Sim if necessary. Advantages • Cheap, the price is a total price and not per person • Designed and verified by destination specialists • Always up to date, tips from users are processed immediately • No preparation time required • No searching (and stress) during your holiday • Discover the island individually • No expensive excursions needed • Very informative, lots of tips on sights, opening hours, local customs • Advice on routes and restaurants along the way
