The rumors are no longer just whispers — Disney Cruise Line has confirmed it will be leaving Australia and New Zealand after the upcoming 2025/2026 cruise season, ending its short-lived run in the region. Speculation had been mounting among fans after Disney Wonder — the vessel currently based “Down Under” — was notably absent from port schedules for the 2026/2027 season.
The company has now made it official: the ship’s final Australian deployment will wrap up in early 2026. The last local voyage for Disney Wonder will be a 3-day round-trip “cruise to nowhere” from Sydney, departing January 30, 2026. Shortly after, the 2,713-passenger ship will reposition to Hawaii on a 14-night voyage from Sydney to Honolulu, departing February 2, 2026.
Disney’s time in the region has been brief. The cruise line first sailed into Australian waters in late 2023, when Disney Wonder launched its inaugural “Disney Magic at Sea” voyages. The final season will run from October 2025 to February 2026, offering itineraries from Melbourne, Auckland, and Sydney, with sailings ranging from 3 to 10 days. Some cruises will include port calls, while others will be sea days focused on onboard entertainment.
