A new purpose-built all abilities vessel is a major step forward for inclusive tourism on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Keppel Dive & Water Sports has announced the launch of a new purpose-built all abilities vessel. The Keppel Adventure is the first of its kind for the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and it will significantly improve access to the Keppel Islands for visitors with disabilities.

The vessel is constructed from partially recycled HDPE materials, with specific design elements to make it accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. A front ramp, and a rear lift, makes it easier and safer for these guests to board.
“This is more than just a boat – it’s a new chapter for accessible tourism on the Capricorn Coast,” says Ollie Heales (owner of Keppel Dive & Water Sports and Funtastic Cruises).

Of course, the boat is just the beginning. With the Keppel Adventure, a range of accessible experiences are made available for visitors of all abilities, including snorkelling tours, island explorations, and camping transfers.
“We’ve always believed the Keppel Islands should be enjoyed by everyone, and now, with Keppel Adventure, they truly can be,” Ollie adds. “We look forward to welcoming everyone aboard and showcasing the magic of the Keppel Islands – no barriers, no limitations.”
The addition of the Keppel Adventure to the Keppel Dive & Water Sports fleet is supported by the Queensland Government’s Accessible Tourism Elevate Fund through the Department of Tourism and Sport.
