Bondi Beach, Sydney NSWSydney’s Bondi Beach is arguably Australia’s most famous beach so it’s only fitting that it should offer the most accessible facilities for locals and visitors alike. How wonderful for people and families to be able to have a place to change and get ready for the beach with dignity. Read more.
Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas QLDWe were thrilled to learn that Four Mile Beach Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland is now more accessible than ever. In our opinion, the availability of a Sandcruiser beach wheelchair, an accessible ramp to access the sand and beach matting makes this Tropical North Queensland’s most accessible beach. Read more.
Apollo Bay, Great Ocean Road VICOur favourite stay along the Great Ocean Road was at Apollo Bay. We absolutely loved the town with its stunning bay, we had great accommodation at BIG4 Apollo Bay Pisces Holiday Park and we managed to get down to the water, thanks to a free-to-loan accessible beach wheelchair as part of the Great Ocean Road’s fantastic beach wheelchair program. Read more.
Town Beach, Geraldton WAWe stopped in to Geraldton for two nights on our Western Australia Coral Coast road trip and found that this coastal town offers excellent accessibility including beach matting and beach wheelchairs. It was particularly heartening to meet Peter, a local with a real passion for access and inclusion. If you are touring the Coral Coast, it’s worth stopping at Geraldton to check out the accessible facilities for yourself. Read more.
Normanville Beach, Fleurieu Coast SANormanville is the largest coastal settlement along the Fleurieu Coast and offers a 7.3 kilometre long beach. Especially pleasing is the accessibility facilities provided at the beach for those visiting with a disability. Our visit was just for the day but after doing quite a bit of beach hopping we discovered Normanville Beach offers the best accessibility on the Fleurieu Coast. Read more.
