Welcome to another edition of Travel and Cruise Industry News.
And today, we have something cruise passengers and cruise executives should both be paying attention to.
Despite concerns about higher fuel prices, inflation and an uncertain economy, apparently people are not ready to give up their vacations.
Carnival Corporation has just reported record third-quarter results—and perhaps even more interesting than what happened this summer is what Carnival says travelers are already booking for 2027 and 2028.
We also have a brand-new Carnival ship floating for the first time, MSC breaking ground on another private island in The Bahamas, Princess Cruises taking cruise planning into artificial intelligence, a new Mekong River ship, and several other stories making travel news.
And that’s our look at the latest travel and cruise industry news.
The big story today is certainly Carnival’s financial report. Whatever concerns exist about the economy, fuel prices or geopolitical uncertainty, travelers are still booking cruises—and they’re increasingly booking them well into the future.
We’ll also continue watching that developing situation aboard Harmony of the Seas, and of course we’ll keep an eye on travel conditions in Thailand.
